Analysis

In this example, we can see many types of the different caracteristics from the new technology texts. Some examples would be the use of abbreviations, the use of capital letters and exclamation marks. These three examples are different linguistics methods, that are used to give more emphasize.

1. I don't have to be back at work until January 5!     Here, we can see the use of exclamation mark, that give to the sentence more tone in the voice.  --- Not free Fri or Sat or Sun!!!"    Here the use of exclamation marks is bigger and its seem to be much more higher tone in the voice of the persons who sends it.    
2. I am doing the very same! I got a new BOOK! Off to read it!   Here the capital letter used with "BOOK!" gives more emphasize to the hole sentence.
3. Jimbo, what day you wanna hang out? Tues, Wed or Thurs? Not free Fri or Sat or Sun!!!"   Finally, we have the abbreviations, like, in these case, the days of the week, as Tues for Tuesday, Wed for Wednesday, Thurs for Thursday, etc.
